ComedySportz Improv Comedy Classes

 

Hey, you’ve seen the show. Now, it’s your turn to get up there and do it! Learn improv the ComedySportz way from the most experienced improv teachers in Berlin. Plus, it’s some of the most fun you’ll ever have in a class.

 

Over eight highly intensive yet extremely relaxed weeks, you’ll learn the basics of improvisation from our skilled professionals.

 

You’ll develop a number of practical skills you can apply in almost any real-life situation, including creative problem-solving, quick-thinking skills, spontaneity, non-verbal communication, and having fun with strangers.

Improv 101 :: Fundamentals of Improv

This course introduces you to the skills of improvisation; developing basic verbal and physical communication skills by exploring spontaneity, active listening, risk-taking, story-telling, character development, and more. Learn how to improvise in a safe, non-judgmental environment where the laughter comes easy and fun is the name of the game. No prerequisite except a willingness to play.


Beginning September 8th Comedysportz Berlin will be offering a 10 week drop in program culminating in a showcase for all students in mid November. The course is outlined below. If you would like to perform in the showcase we recommend that you attend at least 5 of the 10 classes. Workshops will be held at Theaterhaus Mitte, every Thursday evening from 7-9.30 pm.


Workshops are 15€ for a single class, 65€ for 5 classes and 120€ for the entire 10 week course.


As an added bonus, all students who register for the entire 10 week course receive free admission to all Comedysportz for the duration of the 10 week period, to help compliment the learning process.

Improv 201 :: Introduction to Scenework

This course introduces you to the building blocks of scenework, giving you the tools to create honest relationship-driven scenes on stage. A few of our most popular games will be used to strengthen your listening, character, and scene-building muscles as you become a stronger, faster more bionic improviser. Giggles, chuckles, and guffaws included in course fee. Prerequisite: CSz 101

(Intro to Improv) or permission of Education Director.

Improv 301 :: Advanced Improv

This class continues the study of successful scene-work and adds more and more ComedySportz gamez to your repetoire. Refine your game even further and learn the basics of what makes a good show. Then, show off your stuff in ComedySportz match performed by students for an invited audience on the final day of class. Prequisite: ComedySportz Intermediate level or permission of Education Director. Prequisite: ComedySportz Intermediate level or permission of Education Director.

    * Workshops are in English. Non-native English speakers are encouraged to attend the classes, but it is recommended that the student be at an intermediate level and above.
